Indian Express-Citizens for Peace Essay Competition

For all you proud Indians out there, do you want the world to know your views on the much-modified-confused-and-what-not topics of Religion and Secularism today? Well then, guess the price tag of your thoughts? 50,000 Rupees.

See the details below for the Indian Express Citizens for Peace Annual Essay Writing Competition (big title isnt it :-0 ), and send in your entries before August 15, to the mail id mentioned below. The First Prize, as I said earlier, is 50,000 Rupees. Well money is not that important when you consider the satisfaction etc etc of winning, but what to do? You have no option but to collect the money ;-). Apart from the amount, your work will also be published in The Indian Express and Jansatta

I just finished the essay and mailed it to the contest last night. I got a lot of good feedback from my friends, and read it through 2 or 3 times myself. It was good enough I guess. I shall post the essay here as soon as that contest is over :). (With all the work that I have now, I think that is going to be my next post…)

Wish all you participants Good Luck.

Jai Hind!

As India goes global, it’s time we broadened our definition of secularism. What does secularism mean to you today? And how do you think it will change the face of modern India? The Indian Express provides this platform for individuals to express their opinion on secularism and redefine it if they think fit.
